Ryan Rothmeyer began in music by learning to play drums at age 9 in the school band. From there, he played many talent shows and performed with several bands through middle and high school. He became known simply as “the drummer”. In high school, he began learning other instruments such as guitar, bass, piano, and became increasingly curious about music, its effect on listeners, and how it was constructed. Ryan went on to study music at Baker University, learning more about music theory, composition, percussion, and education. He completed his studies by earning a Bachelor of Music Education. It was also there that he discovered he had a voice and began singing in the choir and writing music for vocals.
As a drummer, Ryan has been playing professionally since the age of 18. During that time he has performed with such acts as One Degree Difference, The Cause, Disco Dick and the Mirror Balls, Noe Palma, Process, and many others. He is currently employed as a music teacher and focused on inspiring young minds to learn and create music. As a composer/songwriter, Ryan has composed music in many genres including pop, rock, country, instrumental, and metal. His strengths are crafting memorable melodies that leave lasting impressions on the listener. Ryan cites Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Phil Collins, and Taylor Swift, as some of his songwriting influences. In recent years, he has worked with music companies such as Crucial Music, Rocket Songs, Konsonant Music, and has also been a member of NASI, Taxi, and ASCAP.
